Abstract
This paper addresses how insights from computer algorithms can be used to better understand leadership. Using structural topic models (STM), a tool for inductively generating a classification of leader challenges, the authors identified nine central challenges leaders face. Several of the topics converged with those from smaller scale qualitative studies, an encouraging sign for leader development research and practice.
