Effective school principals: Competencies for meeting the demands of educational reform

Summary

This report describes challenges facing school principals, shows how the competencies of effective principals identified through research will remain important, and suggests new competencies principals will need to learn to remain effective in the face of school reform. The resulting framework of principal competencies can be used as a guide for thinking about the selection and development of effective principals.
