Along with gender, race/ethnicity, and nationality, financial security is an important aspect of leaders’ social identity. In an article for Talent Management, CCL researchers explore the role that financial security plays in Gen Z and Millenial workers’ decisions to pursue leadership roles and feel empowered in those leadership positions. Insights are drawn from recent findings from more than 15,000 young workers located in more than 55 countries. The article also includes concrete suggestions on how organizations can equitably recruit and support the next generation of workers across social classes.
