Summary

The Network of Executive Women and the Center for Creative Leadership surveyed 25,071 NEW members to measure factors that can support or block women’s career advancement and to better understand what women can do to advance their careers. The career factors studied were identified in previous CCL research and other published reports.

This paper highlights what helps and hinders women leaders’ progression — and how their experience of career barriers and support factors differs by age, seniority and race. There are clear implications for organizational practice in talent management, diversity and inclusion.
